Nita's Closet

We started a food pantry and clothing closet and are simply calling it Nita's Closet. It is our dream to help supply food and clothes, two basic needs that nobody should go without, in Romulus and other surrounding cities in the Metro Detroit Area.

We are calling it Nita's Closet in memory of our dear friend, Nita Garland, who went home to be with the Lord this past August. This type of ministry was a passion of Nita's, and her husband, Randy, and we only hope that we can match the amount of passion and love that they had for this ministry. This is what Nita's granddaughter had to say about Nita: "Nita, or Mimi to her friends and family, had the true definition of a servants heart. She was all about meeting the needs of others. She always told us that her and Papa were never rich, but they would give whatever money they did have to help out family or friends in need. The holiday food baskets were her biggest ministry. Mimi and Papa received so much joy from collecting and delivering the food baskets. They were also involved in the food pantry in the past. Mimi and papa would set aside time to sift through all the food and make sure nothing was expired. The legacy she leaves behind is to love fiercely and always help those in need."

Nita's Closet will be open the first Saturday of every month here at New Faith Chapel from 9:00AM-1:00PM.

The mission of Nita's Closet is simple, love fiercely and always help those in need.

CHOSEN

Once a month New Faith Chapel takes hygiene kits and food to the homeless and needy to Cass Park in Detroit. This ministry started in the fall of 2016 taking only hygiene kits, but, at the beginning of 2017 added sack lunches and in October of 2017 hot lunches were added. We are excited on where God has brought this ministry.

Trunk or Treat

Every October New Faith Chapel opens up our whole property to love on our community. In what has become our biggest outreach event, Trunk or Treat at NFC is a blast every year. Our goal is to improve this event each year, so those in our community can have a fun and safe night out with their family.

Starting with our online registration, getting your tickets for games is a quick and easy process (there is no charge). After you are registered the fun can begin! You first head to the trunks where your kids can “Trunk or Treat.” Here they will receive candy from upwards of 50 trunks! Next, you can head to our games area where the kids will for sure have a blast and win a lot of prizes along the way. Whether it be Football Toss, Tin Can Alley, or the community favorite, Fish Bowl the games are challenging, yet fun, and everyone leaves with a prize at every game! Don’t forget to go and have dinner on your way out, where our kitchen staff make it a priority to serve you with love and delicious food.
